In a news posting to the Evanescence website during June 2009, Amy Lee wrote that the band was in the process of writing new material for a new album proposed for release in 2010. She stated that the music would be an evolution of previous works and be "better, stronger, and more interesting".
According to their Wikipedia, Evanescence entered the studio on February 22 to begin recording. The new album is intended for an August or September 2010 release and will be produced by Steve Lillywhite. Will "Science" Hunt joined the band as primary drummer and programmer, while Will Hunt returned as secondary drummer. David Campbell, who previously worked on The Open Door, was brought back to handle string arrangements...Are their any Evanescence fans here other than me, that are jumping for joy?
For those of you that haven't met Amy 'The Voice' Lee and all those Vocals...
To hear something as peaceful and as emotional as 'Human Nature' takes you to a surreal place of harmony..Only one man can produce a record as epic as this that makes you forget all..It was written by Steve Porcaro and John Bettis, and produced by Quincy Jones for the one and only 'Thriller' Album. The song was the last selected for the album, ousting "Carousel" from the final track listing. It is widely credited as being one of Jackson's most captivating and emotional songs, and has been recognised by many as one of the great song ballads of all time. ..Simple and to the point

With an Aaliyah 'Let me know' Sample and Jeezy on the track, Drake has a new song that leaked titled 'Unforgettalbe" and it actually takes me back to when I first heard Drake's infamous mixtape....although I haven't been a huge fan of most of the material Drake has been releasing, I can say I like this one..
Rock in Rio has been the largest rock festival in the world (1.5 million people in the first edition, 700 thousand in the second, about 1.2 million in the third, and about 350 thousand people in each of the 3 Lisbon editions. Along with Shakira, Rock in Rio 2010 Music Festival has an impressive line-up with such names as John Mayer, Elton John, Leona Lewis, Miley Cyrus and Muse.
At a recent special London Screening of 'Why Did I Get Married Too?' Janet Jackson debuted a very sophisticated short cut and rocked it! SAU whatcha think should she stay with the short do?
With all the bad news surrounding the Cavs right now, and the possibility of loosing their star player in Lebron James, Coach Mike Brown has officially gotten the boot!
He posted a 314-177 record and made the playoffs every season, including one trip to the NBA finals, but Mike Brown was fired as the Cleveland Cavaliers' head coach Monday after five seasons of trying -- and failing -- to win a championship with superstar LeBron James.
Brown was the league's coach of the year in 2009 and had one year remaining on his contract. But with James eligible for free agency and expected to listen to offers from other teams, Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert made the move, perhaps to show James that the team is serious about making whatever changes are necessary to bring a championship to Cleveland.
"After a long and deep analysis of all of the factors that led to the disappointing early ends to our playoff runs over the past two seasons, we concluded that it was time for the Cavaliers to move in a different direction," Gilbert said in a statement. "The expectations of this organization are very high and, although change always carries an element of risk, there are times when that risk must be taken in an attempt to break through to new, higher levels of accomplishment. "This is one of those times."
Damn the bad news never stops...WELP atleast the Lakers lost last night ;)
About a month ago I did a post on the newbie Aaron Fresh...remember, the cute Kid right? Welp he's back with another single "Spending All My Time Loving You" and I see it people. The little one has a mix of the Caribbean sound with the classic R&B dreamy-eyed sound and in my opinion if he's perceived well by the public, this could get out of hand. Check Aaron give personality on 106&park..SAU open conversation people, do you see what I see?
Although this is only his first album, Drake understands that his swift ascension from underground mixtape rapper to the next Biggie/Lil Wayne/insert-legend-here means that listeners are expecting not just quality, but greatness.
“I know I have a lot of growing up to do, Drake states, but I guess, unfortunately, people won’t judge me as if this is my first album or my first year in the game. This is a crucial moment for me. It actually feels like my last album, not my first. I’ll be working hard to make sure you remember it. I’ll be in your city, performing all the songs, and hopefully looking at you in your eyes and let you know it’s real out here, man. I’m ready.”
SAU are you guys ready to take a ride on that Drake Train?
Online reports say this one is to be officially released in June. Not too clear if this one is a 'Buzz Single' or officially the one so I'll just save official judgement for then. Check him out...
Soulja Boy looks like he's not backing down with his new single featuring the little monster that is Justin Bieber (Talk about smart) 'Rich Girl'. As always Soulja's lyrics are broken down to the lowest form of rap, but on the same token this is something the tweens are going to lap up with Justin Bieber on the track..So good for him
"It probably sounds weird, but for me, there's nothing better than getting up and going right to the gym. I have cellulite, just like almost every other woman on the planet. And just because I feel secure with my body doesn't mean I think cellulite is cute! It will always be an issue for me. So let's just say it's a work in progress!"
Take my badge, but my heart remains lovin' you..Baby child, Tighten up on your range your runnin wild, runnin wild..its true- Glorious quote from The Black Keys
The Black Keys are an American blues-rock music duo consisting of vocalist/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer/producer Patrick Carney. They were formed in Akron, Ohio in 2001.
The band is frequently compared to The White Stripes (also a blues-based musical duo of drums and vocals/guitar that started around the turn of the millennium) and to the stylings of The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, and Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead are fans of the band. Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett has also stated in an interview that he enjoys listening to the band. Arctic Monkeys' drummer Matt Helders can be seen in a Black Keys t-shirt in an interview on MTV's RAW....One of my favorite indie bands People check em' out...
You better Believe it..Justin Bieber and all that Bieber mania has jumped back to the number one spot for a fourth non-consecutive week at the top. But he does so with just a little over 60,000 copies sold (which means the music industry's sales are steady going down) according to Nielsen SoundScan, marking the second-lowest week at No. 1 since SoundScan's sales information began powering the Billboard 200 in May of 1991.
Welp after that depressing news...Check Justin Bieber sing 'U Smile" on American Idol last night..If all else fails look at Justin Bieber LOL (real quick did you guys see Justin Bieber working that camera like nobody's business? The guy is getting good!)
Janelle Monae' (who's album ArchAndroid Is in stores now) stopped by 106&Park to give a little insight on who she actually is, and how she came from a working class family.. When asked about what it's like to come to a Janelle Monae' concert she states: "It's Electrifying, I'm just merely creating art in front of my eyes and the audience's eyes. Its an out of body experience..I feel very possessed"
SAU do you like this one? Janelle Monae' has been grinding it out for a minute now and as music heads that are use to the more safe 'POP' sound, like any other sound it will take a minute to adjust...But I get it..I really do and I get the direction she's taking,But from what I hear it seems like she and her crew write a lot of her music, that's never a bad thing, but sometimes it takes someone else to get in that gumbo of a sound and take it in the 'Direction' she actually wants to go and hit that mark dead on(when I say someone else, I mean the right person that gets her, not just anyone)...But I like Janelle Monae' SAU whatcha think?
Neon Valley Street You can't say the girl doesn't have something with this one..
Do you early 2000 music heads remember Craig david? If not he's a British singer who had a nice single in the US with 'Fill Me In'. His debut in the U.S "Born To Do It' was released in the United States on 17 July 2001, peaking at Number 11 on the Billboard 200, and sold over one million copies..
Ok now that we go that out the way we can talk about this very dumbed down song that leaked from him...For some reason I probably put Craig on a pedestal that was just too high, because this sounds like he's winning through the whole song. This sounds more late 00' instead of current and fresh, so hopefully its old. In the end it just sounds BLAH....Sorry Craig hopefully he wasn't trying to do anything with this one,I'm here to tell you Don't do it!
Singer Keri Hilson took an extreme 32 hour trip to South Africa, starting her day off visiting Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela spent most of his 27 years in prison. Check out where she goes from there...
J.Z. Two letters that make Hip Hop salute to one who obviously paved the way for the new comers. Most Comfortable in his own skin, Jay-Z aka Shawn Carter is one of the most successful hip hop artists, and entrepreneurs in America but has the stats to back it up...Selling 40 million albums worldwide, while receiving ten Grammy Awards for his musical work, and numerous amounts of other nominations. Lucky me to have the chat..
Ms.A: SAU...Look at who decided to stop by..Mr.Jay-Z how are you today?
Jay-Z: I'm doing great today thank you, its about time I get invited to talk to Ms.A how are you today?
Ms.A: I'm great but whats been the hold up, you been hiding from me?
Jay-Z: I'm not hiding, I have been a little busy but I'm so happy to be here now
Ms.A: So we're about 5 months into the year, and there are so many rumors, chatter, and whispers about whats going on with you...you ready to clear everything up for SAU?
Jay-Z: LOL I'm ready to finally clear a few things up for SAU first thing I would like to say is, this is my favorite blog on the net you deliver respectable news, and good discussion that's something that is very rare nowadays.
Ms.A: thank you Jay that means a lot!
Jay-Z: Your welcome Ms.A
Ms.A: So getting right into it..Album wise you released the incredible Blue Print III last year, what was your primary objective going into this one?
Jay-Z: I wanted to of course release the best album I could, but I wanted to answer a lot of the haters, the bloggers and critics with this one because I hear everything! They say I wear flip flops,or I look like a camel,or I have lost my flow and my skill. It's all about evolution, so of course I'm not gonna be in the same place I was when I made the original Blueprint or Reasonable Doubt
Ms.A: I agree
Jay-Z: I think I would look pretty foolish rapping like I'm 20 when I'm 40 now!
Ms.A: So going back to what you just said..Critics saying "you lost your flow and skill"...what do you feel the difference is between your flow on 'Reasonable Doubt to the flow on Blue Print 3?
Jay-Z: I'm a grown ass man now Ms.A I cant flow about the Lexus', pushing weight or in the kitchen
Ms.A: LMAO!!!
Jay-Z: I would look pretty stupid rapping about selling drugs and in the hood when you can look on the Internet and see me on a yacht oversees on vacation. Ms.A I ask you...
Ms.A: Whatcha got?
Jay-Z: Can you imagine U2 sounding the same now like they did on the 'Joshua Tree' album back in 1987?
Ms.A: I do actually think every artist has to have a time when they grow up and mature through their music. 'Joshua Tree' was an amazing album but "No line on the Horizon" by U2 shows that their more than just your average 123 "Rock band" which in turn showed growth from A-B so I totally agree
Jay-Z: So as a rapper why cant I have that growth? Is it because I'm a rapper? Or is it most rappers have always put themselves in a box so they feel that they cant grow?
Ms.A: Well that brings another question...Do you categorize yourself as an 'Artist ,MC or a 'Rapper?
Jay-Z: I consider myself an Artist
Ms.A: I'll take it...
Ms.A: 'NY State of Mind'...Your first number one song, If you can take yourself back to the night you recorded it..Did you feel it was going to make as big as an impact as it has?
Jay-Z: I was given the beat and the hook first, and after I heard both it was kinda like a perfect storm. I felt the beat was so NY, and went so well with the hook. The night I recorded it was something magical, and when Alicia got on it I knew it was the one! Hopefully, it lives on like the other great New York songs from back in the day and I hope I did Sinatra proud! Shot out to Mike thanks for the record man!
Ms.A: Recently there have been shots fired your way,Some subliminal some blatant...
Jay-Z: right
Ms.A: Beanie Sigel who was your artist on Rocafella Records, had some choice words for you a couple months back and decided to talk very thoroughly about the ROC and business dealings that went on there, as well as other rappers..When you hear rappers want "WAR" what goes through your mind?
Jay-Z: The first thing that goes through my mind is that I'm sorry for them. Then I want to destroy them but you know, I realize that if I didn't have what I have they wouldn't care
(Jay-Z 'Takeover' diss record)
Ms.A: "Have what I have" meaning.....
Jay-Z: Have what I have meaning, 50 talks about me and says that I live off of Beyonce and other things, If I didn't have her he wouldn't be talking so he wants her.Than a few months after, he goes on radio or something saying that he would love to marry Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and some others...So they can keep talking about me but is that gonna pay there mortgage? keep there lights on?
Jay-Z: The problem is none of these guys can be themselves they want to copy me but they should want to be better than me
Jay-Z: They have no idea what my life is like, and I don't there's, so live your own man! That's just messy like a bunch of b*tches! I'm not labeling them bitches but there acting like it, so I'm not gonna answer them while they waste time making mix tape records, that get downloaded for free. I'm working on my new album!
Ms.A: Speaking of the ROC, the rumor mill has been going wild saying there were "Secret meetings" held regarding the ROC getting back together...Any Truth to that?
Jay-Z: There was a meeting, I don't know about the huge title that was placed on it LOL
Ms.A: Hey I'm giving it to you raw like I heard it LOL
Jay-Z: Its so funny to hear it like that
Ms.A: So you and Dame have spoken lately? You can't just leave us at "yes"
Jay-Z: There has not been any direct man to man convo, but I wrote him asking how he was that's all.
Ms.A: SAU..I tried... I'll leave it at that.. I have 2 yes or no questions for you... 1) Are you in a "secret cult" and or society"?
Jay-Z: This is my favorite thing they say about me, No I'm not in a secret cult! If the people were smart, and did a little reading, they would see that Black Folks are not accepted in those type of things
Jay-Z: I just want to mind my own business and live life, I'm a private person I don't need a "club" to make me feel good or important I just want to live!
Ms.A: And 2.) You previously said something about recording your next album, but is the word retirement in your vocabulary as of late?
Jay-Z: No its not, I don't have to be limited to that. One day I wont do it anymore, but I wont be announcing that I'm retiring. That was a pretty embarrassing saga I went through when I came back...
Jay-Z: So one day I just wont make anymore records, but I don't want to give it a title
Ms.A: So what do you say to the people that say your to old to be rapping?
Jay-Z: Don't buy my records.......Its a free country
Ms.A: There you have it! So lets say you were to give up rapping tomorrow...Who would be your number one draft pick for best rapper alive?
Jay-Z: Without a doubt Eminem
Ms.A: And if not Eminem?...
Jay-Z: Lil Wayne would have to be next, the man stays on his grind he is one of the best
Ms.A: What about the next King of NY?
Jay-Z: I don't think there will be another King Of New York "I think they will all pull together to sustain New York as a hip hop force"
Ms.A: Oh yeah? That's the best you could come up with Jay? SAU you see how the politically correct answer came in?
Jay-Z: LMAO, Ms.A no one has stepped to the front so if you don't have a star player than you have to win by team work Who do you think will be the next King of New York Ms.A?
Ms.A: Hey I'm not a NY resident so I can't answer that one, So I'll just say And I quote" I think they will all pull together to sustain as a hip hop force in NY" LMAO
Jay-Z: LMAO yeah, I'm not the only one who has had media training!
Jay-Z: SAU? who do you think will be the next King Of NY?
Ms.A: SAU Whatcha think I'm at a loss!
Ms.A: So How's marriage life Mr.?
Jay-Z: Its great, couldn't be better
Ms.A: So just great? Nothing important or exciting you want to share? cooking recipes? anything....
Jay-Z: LOL nah, I don't have anything I want to share... its fun
Ms.A: I think I'm about done asking all the questions I can think of but I'll end this by asking what's your next move...
Jay-Z: My next move is I'm working on a new album and I have some new artist I want to introduce to the world soon...
Ms.A: And with that being said...Thank you so much Mr.Carter for stopping by SAU you know I appreciate it!
Jay-Z: Your welcome Ms.A anytime! It was my pleasure, I had a lot of fun today with you getting your Katie Couric on.
