The FIFA World Cup Kick-off Celebration Concert will start at 8pm local time (GMT+2) in the Orlando Stadium in Soweto and will be broadcast worldwide (see the link below for free live stream). The concert’s goal is to reflect the spirit of the World Cup tournament and to convey a message of unity and hope.
Proceeds from the concert will be donated to “20 Centres for 2010”, the Official Campaign of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. Its aim is to create 20 Football for Hope Centres to promote public health, education and football in disadvantaged communities across Africa.
