New Vid: Adele "Rolling In The Deep"...
Singer Adele is prepping her latest effort "21" with the first official video for the haunting yet so soulful single "Rolling In The Deep". Adele's new album '21' is scheduled to hit stores February 22nd..
Im so excited it seems so long until the CD release but it is refreshing to see a record label work a single like this one and not put the single out and 2 weeks later the CD
Im here just smoking I got a little time to burn I decided not to do anything today and just sit and nap and watch TV so in other words I sat my old ass down and it feels good.So I will stay for a few minutes and answer a couple of questions you guys like my song so thats the ultimate compliment so why not
Mr.Rubin you have produced for everybody from Johnny Cash to U2 to Aerosmith and far beyond.Who in today's world would you love to get your hands on and work with right now
I have one your biggest trademark as one of the ultimate producers is the "Stripped down sound" which is eliminating the strings background vocals etc...with you doing that of course you had many to follow your sound but what do you think of people emulating sounds such as the "techno" sound and dragging it into the ground which makes it sound like thats the only thing that we hear on radio?
Oh Boy how I feel about Def Jam now...Its very sad to see the state its in and it hurts my heart but atleast we have legacy you can read about it in the history books when they werre great and now there....there I guess
I would have to bring in heavy ammunition to work with her I would have to call my friend the scientist up to write the record but I would have her singing and arranged like she never thought she could. It would be great I think really great
And how can I forget B.o.B intrest me alot I would like to see what he can do he is such an interesting artist. When I think of B.o.B for some reason I can see Andre3000/Lenny Kravitz/Jimi Hendrix rolled up into one I would love to spend a couple of days in the studio with him
Dont put it all on Beyonce you guys there would be so many things that have to happen. My part time job is Co-President of Columbia Records which is her label and I have asked for this and she has asked but a couple of people higher up think Im to crazy to work with her not a safe bet are whatever. So if she would if she could Im sure but someone in her management team (Dad) and my bosses Steve Barnett (Co-Chairman Columba) and Rob Stringer (Chairman Columbia/Epic Records)dont have the nuts to make this happen there to scared I guess.Than I would have to get the Mad Scientist in on this and he is not that easy to find because without him I wouldnt do it he would have to write the record I dont anyone else touching it
To answer your question Ms.A its a double edged knife because everything since music started we copied off of each other everything is emulated at some point in time again. So when you have real innovators that start something new are bring a new sound in to the U.S that was popular somewhere else its like of course many producers will follow and they will copy and to copy is the best form of flattery in my book but the danger part of it is that you lose hold of what you started so you have to stay fresh and keep coming new.
The best example is the techno sound like you said Ms.A.In the industry its known that The Scientist brought this sound back to the U.S with Closer and Forever. He didnt start the sound he got it from Guetta who was over in England primarily at the time and from the 80's of course. Those 2 records were so different and people loved it that it caught on and thats all you hear on the radio and its being beaten like ran over road kill. But the Scientist didnt kill it all he had was those 2 records that he made sound like that than everyone else took it and he is on to a new sound 2 and 3 new sounds. So the overall lesson as a producer to stay relavent and if your really good and want to be great stay ahead of your sound dont settle and get comfortable it and raise a family there.Keep it moving on to the next
"So the overall lesson as a producer to stay relavent and if your really good and want to be great stay ahead of your sound dont settle and get comfortable it and raise a family there.Keep it moving on to the next"
Because noone has said anything as real as that in a while...SAU I deem that a official Glorious quote from Rick Rubin:
"So the overall lesson as a producer to stay relavent and if your really good and want to be great stay ahead of your sound dont settle and get comfortable it and raise a family there.Keep it moving on to the next" Amen!
