GOOD FRIDAY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!

We have a couple hours until the work day is through and the hair can be let down, We have good music on this good musical directory we call SAU What more can you ask for?
HAPPY FRIDAY MY GOOD PEOPLE!!

New Music: Mr. Hudson "Love Never Dies"

I think Mr. Hudson has a very inviting soothing voice. I like everything that he's trying to so and I can foresee this route. Now if it could just all come together and make something memorable he could potentially make some great noise...I love the song SAU Whatcha think?..Nice right?

Throwback Of The Day...Michael Mcdonald "I Keep Forgetting"

VERY distinctive voice right? Written by Michael McDonald and Ed Sanford. Its similarity to the earlier song "I Keep Forgettin'", by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, resulted in Leiber and Stoller also being given a songwriting credit.

Michael McDonald recorded it as a duet with his sister Maureen for If That's What It Takes, his first solo album away from The Doobie Brothers, and it reached #4 on the Billboard Pop Singles charts, and #7 on the R&B chart. Greg Phillinganes, Steve Lukather and Jeff Porcaro of the band Toto played the clavinet, guitar and drums respectively.

McDonald's song was heavily sampled by Warren G on his hit 1994 single "Regulate", featuring Nate Dogg, and by Jadakiss on "Kiss Is Spittin'", which also features Nate Dogg. 'Regulate' also samples the title cut from Bob James' 1981 album Sign of The Times.

Lady Gaga Covers Vanity Fair Mag....

Very nice shot of Gaga...

Left Behind: Musiq Soulchild " SoBeautiful"

"SoBeautiful" is the third single from Musiq Soulchild's fifth studio album, OnMyRadio. It was sent to US radio stations for airplay consideration in January 2009. It was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. Written & produced By JR Hutson, This song brought back R&B to the fullest. With Musiq's immaculate falsetto through the entire song and The Serious horns that come in at 5:55 (On the video, progressed much longer on the original) Take you to a surreal moment in time where music actually meant something. So for a smooth/sexy night you have to love it!

B.o.B Brings Coolness To Adidas....

Rapper B.o.B seems to be the new face of Adidas Shoes Check your boy out...

Ellen DeGeneres Quits Idol....

Ellen: "A couple months ago, I let FOX and the "American Idol" producers know that this didn't feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn't leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on "Idol" and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be."

Ellen is the next one to exit the band wagon that's American Idol, Rumors of Kara leaving/Getting fired are bubbling under, and Rumors of their replacements are already under way..Everyone from Justin Timberlake, to Elton John but reports are surfacing that Jennifer Lopez is going to take the idol job next...It seems as though Idol is going through a tough time since the man Simon left...SAU does American Idol still interest you?

Eminem "Recovery" Behind The Scenes Photoshoot....

T.I. Covers Jet Magazine....

T.I. is the latest artist to cover Jet Magazine in which the rapper did the photo shoot at his home. "The album is coming along tentatively" Says T.I. "Between August and September"

Here are some tidbits from the wide-ranging interview.

The books he read while in prison:

The bestseller “Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking” by Malcolm Gladwell. "It's about how recognizing small things make a big impact in your life,” T.I. says. "I also read in its entirety “The Coldest Winter Ever” and “Midnight” (both by Sister Souljah). “I read those in two days a piece. Those are the only novels I read, everything else I read for information." Another book that captivated him was “Superman To Man,” (by J. A. Rogers), which deals with whites feeling they were superior to blacks. "A white man got on the train feeling like Superman and he got off that train feeling like just a man."

What he’s reading now:

Since he's been home, he's been reading the dictionary, searching for proper spellings of words. “I just try to keep my vocabulary sharp,” he says.

What he’s teaching his six children:

A doting dad, he says he is teaching his children, who range in age from 2 to 14 to "be passionate about the things that move you and follow that passion. I am trying to teach them with great reward comes great responsibility. The more you have the more you are required, obligated to do. With no struggle, there is no progress. That's what I am trying to teach them."

SAU On The Lawn Spotlight....The Temper Trap

The Temper Trap is an alternative Rock band from Melbourne, Australia noted for its atmospheric sound, featuring grand guitars set to pulsating rhythms. The band is signed to Infectious Records worldwide, except for Australia and the United States. In Australia, the group is signed to Michael Gudinski's label Liberation Music, and in the United States it is signed to Glassnote Records. The band released their debut album Conditions in 2009 to favourable reviews and commercial success.

The Temper Trap first attracted the attention of the worldwide music industry after playing to sell-out crowds at the Musexpo in London in October 2008, and then at South by Southwest in March 2009. The BBC chose The Temper Trap on its top 15 Sound of 2009.

The band finished recording their debut album, Conditions, with veteran music producer Jim Abbiss in March of 2009 in London, after 4 weeks recording the bulk of the album in Melbourne in late 2008. Mandagi said his key influences when recording Conditions included Radiohead, Prince, Massive Attack and U2. The album was released in Australia on 19 June 2009, and debuted at #9 on the Australian ARIA Charts. It was released in the UK on 10 August, 2009.

The band moved to London in early May 2009 to "spend a bit of time on the continent and try and build a fan base over here", according to lead guitarist Lorenzo Sillitto. He says "it was always our dream to at least come over here and give it a good crack early on". In August 2009, the band played the Reading/Leeds Festival. In September 2009 the band embarked on their first headlining UK tour to largely sold out venues.

Throughout 2010, the band continued to tour extensively throughout the UK as well as appearing at several music festivals such as Oxegen, the V Festival as well as Big Day Out and Splendour In The Grass in Australia. In the US, the band embarked on their first headlining tour, with the single 'Sweet Disposition' receiving significant airplay and appearances in commercials and television shows. Shortly afterwards the band received an APRA songwriting award for 'Sweet Disposition'. This was followed by comeback tour in Australia in July, playing to crowds of over 5000 people; their largest to date.

Ryan Leslie Stays Creative.....

Ryan Leslie is a wonderful producer and he tries his best to show the process of making a beat on the regular Check him making "Fast Life"...SAU we like Ryan Leslie!

Lupe Fiasco's Fans Have His Back....

Late last week, Lupe Fiasco fans took to the Internet to start an online petition for the release of Lupe Fiasco's "Lasers" album .The Fiasco one Thanked the fans for the online Petition against Atlantic Records for the release of his album.

Lupe Said:
I love to see progression. I love it. I love to see this petition, It brought me to tears a couple of times like, ‘These n***as really f**k with me. All these kids and these fans f**k with me and it’s some positive s**t. Go to Wearenotlosers.com and see what ‘Lasers’ really is… That’s what they’re petitioning for. Listen to ‘I’m Beamin’, the song. It reaffirms what we’re doing.”

Fiasco went on to say that he believes the album has not been a priority for Atlantic as it does not contain conventional ‘hit’ singles.

"I don’t think the label cares about an album. I don’t think n***as care. People just want their number one record. They don’t care about the rest of the album. I was talking to an engineer the other day and he said, ‘These n***as don’t even care about mixing an album no more’. They just want the first three songs. Three singles. They get them, one, two, three, they don’t care what’s on the rest of the album. I know this for sure. I’ve seen it. You can’t blame them because of the attention span of the game and the attention span of music, how fast things are going. You only got them one, two, three shots. I’m not no fool. I’m looking at it like, ‘Yeah, you’re right’. It’s not necessarily a standoff. Record executives at the company signed the petition. That’s no bulls**t. It’s something that’s systematic. At the end of the day, everything I’m talking don’t mean s**t until they feel like they gonna move with what they gonna move with. They could put Lupe Fiasco on the shelf forever. At the end of the day, it’s not about me going to war or having a standoff. It’s about having an agreement that’s mutually beneficial, and I think we’ve done that.”

SAU Whatcha think?

Kid Cudi's Album Presses Pause.....

It looks like in the land of the pause button, Kid Cudi has had his album "MOTM2" now delayed to an even later date of October 26th. We haven't seen an album from the rapper since September of 09' and the debut of his smash single "Day and Night". With record Labels having less and less money to put into projects, Kid Cudi has found his creative juices that he wants to spill out to the world on pause....Lets hope the rapper can actually drop that faithful day in October...

In my opinion Cuder is an artist who hasn't had the chance to show the world what he can really do, and could potentially lead/Start a new sound in music, but with him not getting the chance (So far) other than the leak of his song REVOFEV ,record labels can't for see that, which in turn slides him down the release bowl and has his College fans wanting something to fill that void...SAU you guys think Cudi's fans that he worked so hard to make them understand him will care when October comes around?

Kanye Continues His Journey.....

What we all saw yesterday was Kanye West performing acapella versions of many of his new songs in front of the social Internet fixture that is Facebook (HQ). Now we have footage of K. West stopping by Twitter HQ's to give them a small sample as well. Now If I must say so this is almost genius marketing and promotion for Kanye's new album (That is untitled as of now via his Twitter page). Taking your music to Twitter and posting something is one thing, but to perform for the big heads at the HQ for both Twitter and Facebook will have artists trying their best to give a promotional concert to the same social outlets pretty soon. This is what I'm talking about! Creativeness is evolution in your genre of music!...(and we all know the music indusrty needs that) Check em' out..

B.o.B Performs On ShockHound.....

When asked what section of the music store his chart-topping debut album should be filed under, Atlanta-based MC B.o.B ponders for a moment, then simply states, “the music section.” One listen to his genre-defying B.o.B. Presents The Adventures of Bobby Ray, and it’s clear that he’s not.

B.o.B performed an acoustic version of one of our favorites "Lovelier than you" and its clear that his vocals are actually getting better I love it!

Aretha Franklin and Condoleeza Rice Jam...

Aretha Franklin headlined an event at the Philadelphia's Mann Music Center on Tuesday night. To the surprise of many former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice joined Aretha Franklin, for a rare music performance to raise money for charity. Rice, who is a classically trained pianist performed a solo as well as performing with Franklin at the event.

She opened with a selection from a Mozart concerto and then backed up Franklin on "I Say a Little Prayer" and "My Country 'Tis of Thee

Katy Perry Breaks Yet another Record....

It looks like Katy Perry's latest effort is gearing up to be a big one for the summer Her new single "Teenage Dream" has broken a US radio record.

The song, which is also the title of Perry's sophomore album, has been added to 87 radio stations over the course of a week - the highest number of adds for a song ever. With last month, the singer broke the US airplay record after 'California Gurls' received 11,816 plays in a week - an everage of 90 plays per radio station!

GO Katy! I actually like the smooth sailing new song produced by Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Benny Blanco. Katy sounds very good and her vocals have very much improved from her last album. I can only imagine how this will continue to impact radio Love it! 'Teenage Dream' below:

Some Female Singers To Never Forget......

We tend to And should never EVER forget our soulful singers that came before us I.E Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Anita Baker, Gladys Knight,Roberta Flack, Mrs, Tina Turner and many more but sometimes we forget the HUGE voices that came after. Michel'le, Lisa Fischer,Angela Winbush, and the one and only Stephaine Mills we can't forget.

Lisa Fischer

She rose to fame in 1991 with her debut album So Intense, which produced the Grammy Award winning hit single "How Can I Ease the Pain". Known for her high notes, which extends into the whistle register, Fischer has been recognized as one of the most successful session vocalists of the era. She has sung back-up for a number of famous artists, including Luther Vandross and the Rolling Stones. Flawless absolutely Flawless! why was she chosen? go to 3:00 and see for yourself!

Angela Winbush

She rose to fame first in the 1980s R&B duo René & Angela, also scoring many hits as a solo artist. This powerhouse of a voice is one to never forget then and now. The pain and pleasure of this voice extends many miles outside the ear even a def man can hear this woman HAS IT!

Stephanie Mills

An American Grammy Award-winning R&B and soul singer, a former Broadway star, and was originally given the title as "the little girl with the big voice'. Listen to why...

Michel'le

better known as Michel'le, is an American R&B singer-songwriter known for her squeaky, child-like speaking voice which is a startling contrast to her strong vocals. Unreal in the only statement you can give for vocals that come from a woman with such a little voice... You guys remember this one?

Vocals like the ones first mentioned and the ones that can often get forgotten are none like we see in the days that are new. Will we ever see vocals reach this beautiful standard again?

Tom Jones Wants Eminem for Collab?

I know you had to re-read that one again right? The one and only Tom Jones has some pleasant words for Platinum selling rapper Eminem, according to NME.com the Singer Tom Jones has hinted that he may like to collaborate with Eminem.

The singer's new album Praise and Blame was reportedly ahead of the rapper's 'Recovery' in the UK charts on Tuesday.

Eminem and Tom Jones? Could you guys forsee it?

In other Eminem news the rapper is still atop Billboard selling yet another 187,000 copies of "Recovery" while the "Teflon Don" Rick Ross sits pretty at number 2 selling 176,000 copies in his first week....

New Music: Nelly "Tippin In The Club"

It looks like someone went away and got RIGHT! Over here I'm a fan of Nelly I've always been being that he had a style that I thought couldn't be duplicated (before Flo-Rida came along) but in the end there can only be one Nelly and he subliminally preached that on this record. This is a very good start for Nelly. Hopefully he can come back with slower tracks in which he really does his thing on. Can't wait to see what he does next.

"Nelly 5.0" Nelly's new upcoming album is said to have features from: Janet Jackson, Diddy,Kelly Rowland, Akon, St. Lunatics, and Usher.

Musical Term: Harmony...

In music, harmony is the use of simultaneous pitches (tones, notes), or chords. The study of harmony involves chords and their construction and chord progressions and the principles of connection that govern them. Harmony is often said to refer to the "vertical" aspect of music, as distinguished from melodic line, or the "horizontal" aspect. Counterpoint, which refers to the interweaving of melodic lines, and polyphony, which refers to the relationship of separate independent voices, are thus sometimes distinguished from harmony.

Harmony is something that's a necessity in a group (which we haven't seen in years) but being "Off" with your Harmonies can be the one thing that makes your song/lyrics mean nothing if not done with effort and passion.
From a lover of music's standpoint I could give you guys many examples of who gives the best rendition of Harmony in their vocals. But absolutely no justice would be served If it wasn't THEE Group Boyz II Men...Check out the beautiful melodic harmonies...

Looks Like The People Want The Song...

Kanye West gave the workers at Facebook HQ in Palo Alto a special preview of new material on his new album "Good Ass Job". With him doing these special Accapella performances for the Facebook Brass its has to make you wonder what huge promotional campaigns he will have for this album.

The very witty rapper did songs in which the FB people cried out in laughter while standing on a table the rapper began with lyrics "I am the day that Ice Cube met Michael Jackson"... but being that its only acapella the beats in which Kanye are known for have to be the icing on the cake...Check him out

WHEW!! A Breath Of Fresh Air....

Mrs. Lauryn Hill, Now I'm not sure if she's on the comeback trail but with her Rocking this festival (Fespad 2010) and on track to headline Rock The Bells Next month it has to be something this songbird is cooking up. A breath of fresh air would be a complete understatement with Lauryn dropping sooner or later compared to the fog of a copying industry that we have on our hands lately, A tad bit of realism/individuality is certainly needed.

Hill, 36 hasn't been seen steadily on the music scene since the commercially successful and critically acclaimed album, 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.' The recording earned Hill five Grammy Awards, including the coveted 'Album of the Year' and 'Best New Artist' ..Check her out

Linkin Park's New Album Art For 'A Thousand Suns"

In other Linkin Park news the band is set to release their new single "Catalyst" that will Be released On August 2nd. THe band linked up with EA sports for the new video game "Medal Of Honor" Linkin Park's Joe Hahn directed the video clip, which includes a mix of gameplay footage and live-action footage of actors playing as soldiers...Check it out..

90's Euro Dance, The Grandfather Of "New Pop"...

(I'm serious as Cancer, when I say Rhythm is a dancer)-Glorious Quote from the 90's

Sound that is very much duplicated/influenced by Pop music of the new generation, 90's eurodance music hit the scene in the early 90's with deep penetrating discotheque songs & very fluid rap verses from miscellaneous rappers that added only flair to the eurodance song of choice. "Mr.Vein' & 'Rhythm is A Dancer' (Which is claimed to be the first eurodance song ever) shot to the top of the charts in 92' & 93' showing that the times of smooth R&B of the late 80's was damn near dead for the moment and Dance +BPM Of 130+ were here for the mean time, keeping the dance floor radiant & your head-a-boppin.
As progression of dance hit the 00's with artists like Robyn (Every Heartbeat), B.E.P, Draft Punk, and DJ's like Funkerman, Kaskade, Laurent Wolf, Benny Benassi and the now infamous David Guetta these people are suggesting that this is more of a movement and they in fact won't stop until every fist has been pumped!

Extended info:

"Rhythm Is a Dancer" is a song recorded by the act Snap!, released as a single in the second quarter of 1992, from the album The Madman's Return. It was written by Benito Benitez, John "Virgo" Garrett III (aliases for German producers Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti), Thea Austin and Durron Butler and produced by Snap! It achieved a huge success in many countries, becoming a top 5 hit in the U.S. and topping the charts in France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK. It has been argued that it was the first eurodance single ever released.

'Mr Vein'

Written by Steven Levis, Nosie Katzmann and Jay Supreme and produced by Torsten Fenslau and Peter Zweier, Mr. Vain was the biggest selling single across Europe in 1993. Typical of the Eurodance style of the time, the song first broke in Germany before breaking more widely through the summer, eventually topping the chart in twelve countries. It reached number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a gold disc.

John Mayer: Cool As Ice Cream On A Hot Day....

John Mayer and fans recently got their Ice Cream on in a very cool way....

According to Rolling Stone, the 'Who Says' star greeted fans at Long Island's Jones Beach in a Ben & Jerry's truck on Wednesday.

"We had an idea of catering to the tailgating crowd, and the epitome of the sound of summer is ice cream truck bells," said his manager Michael McDonald.

"It'll pop up a few more times. It gives a random lucky few fans the ability to have that intimate moment [with Mayer] before they're in a crowd of 15,000."
He is scheduled to play the Toyota Concert Series on the Today Show later today...

Throwback Of The Day....Donell Jones "Where I Wanna Be"

When R&B singer (And Chi-town native) Donell Jones stepped on the scene with the "Where I wanna Be Album" True R&B fans found that they finally got it right with this one. "Where I wanna Be" is the title track from Donell Jones' second album. Written and produced by Jones and Kyle West, the song charted at #29 on the Hot 100 chart and #2 on the R&B chart...and can still grab my heart with this serious pen- Age....

I should of I left my baby girl a message
Sayin' I won't be coming home
I'd rather be alone
She doesn't fully understand me
'Cause I'd rather leave than to cheat
If she gives me some time
I can be the man she needs
But there's a lot of lust inside of me
And we've been together since our teenage years
I really don't mean to hurt her, but I need some time
To be alone

(Chorus 1)
But when you love someone
You just don't treat them bad
Oh, how I feel so sad
Now that I wanna leave
She's crying her heart to me
How could you let this be?
I just need time to see
Where I wanna be
Where I wanna be...

Sweet little dee-do-dee-dee...
I don't mean to hurt you, baby, oh, no, no...

(Verse 2)
Never did I imagine
That you would play a major part
In a decision that's so hard
Do I leave, do I stay, do I go?
I think about my life and what matters to me the most
Girl, the love that we share is real
But in time your heart will heal
I'm not saying I'm gone
But I have to find what life is like
Without you

(Chorus 1)

Sweet little dee-do-dee-dee...
I don't mean to hurt you, baby oh no

(Chorus 2) x 3
See when you love someone
You just don't treat them bad
Oh, how I feel so sad
now that I wanna leave and
She's crying her heart to me
How could you let this be?
I just need time to see
Where I wanna be

Where I wanna be...

SAU WHATCHA THINK?......

Taylor Swift Talks New Single Release Date....

The Country sweetheart that is Taylor Swift, will release her third album 'Speak Now' that will be available October 25th. Swift said during a UStream live chat with fans that the title of the album expresses volumes about its concept and theme.

“Mine,” Swift said, will be released in mid-August. “It’s kind of about my tendency to run from love....[because] every really direct example of love that I have had in front of me has ended in goodbye... So I think I have developed this pattern of running away."

Taylor Swift has grown leaps and bounds over the last couple years since her last release "Fearless" which topped the charts for many months to come, But with Taylor growing I wonder if the little country sweetheart's lyrics will in return grow as well...Or will we still be hearing her talk about princesses and castles?
