Nicki Minaj Sets Billboard Record....

Nicki Minaj made an absolute splash on the Billboard charts this year, becoming the first female to top the Rap Songs list with her hit 'Your Love' since Missy Elliott held the same position in November 2002. But that was just the beginning for the Young Money raptress breaking records on the Billboard charts.

According to the numbers, Nicki has become the first female rapper to have the most entries lodged on the Billboard Hot 100, with seven entries listed on Nielsen Soundscan's 200 best-selling songs of 2010. The Harajuku Barbie has sold a total of 4,298,000 in sales, including her own solo records as well as joints on which she's been featured.

The highest-selling track of the bunch is Ludacris' 'My Chick Bad,' which sold 1,246,000 copies. Her breakout single 'Your Love' came in a distant second with 755,000 units sold, followed by Lil Wayne's 'Knockout' (519,000), Trey Songz's 'Bottoms Up' (518,000), Usher's 'Lil Freak' (508,000), Sean Kingston's 'Letting Go (Dutty Love)' (377,000) and Jay Sean's '2012' (355,000).

Of course congrats are in order for Ms. Minaj, but all this without actually releasing an album yet may bring on just a little more anticipation of her "Pink Friday" album that's due in stores Nov 23rd. A good thing anticipation is but lets just hope she can keep the momentum going with her official album.

Can I Get A Sample?.....

Many of you may not know that the infamous "A House Is Not A Home" a remake it self. "A House Is Not a Home" is a 1964 song recorded by singer Dionne Warwick. Written by the team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David, the song was a modest hit in the U.S. for Warwick, peaking at #71 on the pop singles chart. The song has been covered by many artists including: Diana Ross & the Surpremes & Barbra Streisand.The Song became an instant hit when later covered by R&B singer Luther Vandross, whose version became an R&B hit in 1981. His performance of the song at the NAACP Awards telecast would bring Warwick to tears.

Fastforward about 24 years Kanye West took a liking to this one of a kind song, put his spin on it and out comes Twista Ft Jamie Foxx and Kanye West's Grammy nominated song "Slow Jamz". Released in 2003, the single, which features Kanye West and Jamie Foxx peaked at number one in the USA for a week on February 10, 2004 becoming Twista's, West's and Foxx's first number one single. (The song can be heard on both Twista's "Kamikaze" album, and Kanye West's "College Dropout")

New Video: Linkin Park "Waiting For The End"....

Linkin Park have released the video for their latest single, "Waiting for the End."

The video was directed by Joe Hahn, one of the members of the band, who has worked on some of the band's previous videos. In the clip, the band's members are featured in a dark-room setting, with their images framed by interlocking grids.

Said Hahn: "The clip is an experiment in making the most digital version of ourselves in the spirit of the visual palette of A Thousand Suns. If you have been following our visuals throughout this album, this is the next step in our journey. I wanted to push ourselves so far down the digital path that it eventually felt spiritual."

Left Behind: Incubus "Pardon Me"

"Pardon Me" is a song by rock band Incubus, the song is released as the first single from their third album "Make Yourself". It was the first Incubus song to receive a considerable amount of radio airplay, reaching number three on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and number seven on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

The extremely random thing about this song is as you continue you voyage into this song the Chorus screams a blatant "Pardon me while I burst into flames"

The song describes a state of confusion, with allusions to spontaneous combustion. Lead singer Brandon Boyd says he was inspired to write the song after making a connection between images of spontaneous combustion in a magazine and "some turmoil in [his] life, both good and bad", he related the man's problems to his own and was inspired to write the lyric "Pardon me while I burst into flames" on his hand at that spot.

Little too deep for me but dammit if the song doesn't rock...

Leona Lewis Single Coming "Early Next Year"

The voice that is Leona Lewis isn't that far from our ears, The singer who is currently working on her next studio LP told "X" magazine that she is trying a "tougher" sound for the next release.

"I think I probably will experiment with a tougher sound on some of the songs," she said. "But I don't like going into the studio saying, 'I'm going to do this or that' specifically. I prefer just to get in there and go with it from there."

It was previously revealed that the 25-year-old had once again worked with Ryan Tedder on new material.

"What I was working on with Ryan was quite up-tempo but still very song-based," she said. "I'm working on the new album for next year so the new single will come early 2011 too."

It can get quite fickle working with artists who have a huge voice like Leona and speed it up with a more "Tough sound". As long as the melody in the song is thick and everlasting, this just might be what the world needs to wake up just a tad bit more to Lewis.

The Grammy's Early Favorites....

The night that all of the industry waits for the 2011 Grammys. According to Billboard's survey of record executives and industry observers, the 2011 Grammys will likely field its strongest and most competitive collection of record and song of the year nominees in recent memory.

Many experts project Eminem as this year's potential across-the-board winner, as his album sales remained strong thus far in 2010 but check out the favorites below:

Nearly everyone surveyed agreed this was a superb year for singles, especially for pop. There was also consensus that four songs would face off on February 13, 2011, for song and record of the year: Eminem and Rihanna's collaboration, "Love the Way You Lie"; Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now"; Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind" and Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance." "These are all formidable singles," says Warner Bros. senior vice president of digital Jack Isquith, who hailed them as "meaty, impressive, career-defining records."

Other top tracks cited by multiple executives include Train's "Hey, Soul Sister" (eligible for record of the year but not for song), Katy Perry's "California Gurls," Usher's "OMG," Sade's "Soldier of Love," B.o.B's "Airplanes" and Florence & the Machine's "Dog Days of Summer."

Last year, Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" won song of the year, and Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" took the record prize.

ALBUM OF THE YEAR

In the album of the year category, Eminem's "Recovery" is the clear favorite in a subpar field. "This is Eminem's year," says Billy Mann, who co-wrote and produced last year's showstopping Pink hit, "Glitter in the Air." "He brought his best game and then some. The public can feel it, and the industry can feel it." To date, "Recovery" has sold 2.7 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Los Angeles Times chief pop critic Ann Powers says Eminem's comeback story, as well as the fact that his album was both commercially successful and critically acclaimed, will resonate with Grammy voters. "He's a major figure in pop history," she says, "and he seems to have really grown into himself."

Another leading contender is the Carole King/James Taylor album "Live at the Troubadour." While live sets historically have fared poorly with voters (1994's "MTV Unplugged: Tony Bennett" is the last in-concert title to win the category), "I would watch out for that record," Glassnote Records head Daniel Glass says. The album has sold 453,000 copies since its May release.

Other albums cited include Sade's "Soldier of Love," Jay-Z's "The Blueprint 3," Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now," Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs," Usher's "Raymond v. Raymond" and two from recent Grammy winners: Herbie Hancock's "The Imagine Project" and Robert Plant's "Band of Joy."

Powers thinks Sade's album is a strong bet. "It's a gold-plated release," she says. "It sold well (1.3 million copies), it was well received critically, and she's a classy artist."

Last year, Taylor Swift took home the statue for "Fearless."

BEST NEW ARTIST

Two breakout acts, B.o.B and Mumford & Sons, were mentioned on multiple occasions as strong contenders for best new artist, but most believe it will be a battle between Drake and Justin Bieber, with Drake taking the award.

Emerging stars Nikki Minaj and Bruno Mars are ineligible for nomination this year, because their album release dates fall outside of the eligibility period (September 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010) -- in Mars' case, by one week. Other possible nominees this year include Florence & the Machine, who got a big boost out of their MTV Video Music Awards appearance, and reality TV superstars Susan Boyle and Adam Lambert.

Despite the success of Swift and the Zac Brown Band at last year's ceremony, many country observers say this year's crop of new artists is unlikely to garner many nods. Luke Bryan and Chris Young were both mentioned as long shots.

Grammy voters didn't suffer from a lack of options when it came to nominees -- according to Recording Academy president Neil Portnow, the academy received almost 20,000 submissions this year, a new record.

The nominees will be announced December 1 during the third annual "Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! -- Countdown to Music's Biggest Night" concert. The ceremony will air on CBS on February 13

Drake Remakes TLC's "Fanmail" With "I Get Lonely Too"

Drake is on the track to releasing yet another Mixtape titled "Its Never Enough" on track to drop later this year, This time he's offering his R&B skills for the tape. Trying his best to remake TLC's "Fanmail" from the multiplatinum selling 1999 release of "Fanmail" in the form of "I get Lonely Too" (which is his first single from the mixtape) Drake takes on the title track from the album..Check it out..

Can I Get A Sample?....

First off this HAS to be one of my favorite samples of all time. The song "Boadicea" by Enya from her album "The Celts", became Enya's highest charting single in the U.S., when it peaked at #2 on the Hot 100 in 2004.

Being sampled by the Fugees in their song "Ready Or Not" (With a little bit of fight) Became the second single from The Fugees' 1996 album The Score. The song contains a sample of "Boadicea" by Enya, and its chorus is based on "Ready or Not Here I Come (Can't Hide from Love)" by The Delfonics. The song spent two weeks atop the UK Singles Chart in September 1996.



Mario Winans song "I don't Wanna Know" reached #1 in the United Kingdom and #2 (for 8consecutive weeks) in the United States, and remains Winans' only major success to date. Its eight weeks at #2 also put the song in joint fifth place for the most weeks at #2 by a song which did not go to #1, behind Foreigner's "Waiting For A Girl Like You", Missy Elliott's "Work It", Donna Lewis's "I Love You Always Forever" and Shania Twain's "You're Still The One".

Kanye West Performs On SNL + Talks About New Album...

Kanye West has been busy as of lately, Performing on SNL last Saturday (performances below) as well as giving new insight to his "Dark Twisted Fantasy"

Kanye West has announced that on Nov. 22nd he will be releasing his 5th album titled "My Dark Twisted Fantasy" Kanye said via Twitter:

"The official album title is and always was... MY BEAUTIFUL DARK TWISTED FANTASY," West wrote, adding that some of his weekly "GOOD Fridays" releases will be included on the follow-up to 2008's "808s & Heartbreak." The rapper also said that the "first song on the album is called 'Dark Fantasy' produced [by] the RZA co-produced by me and No I.D."

Kanye Also said: "I ain't letting no leaks have any affect on my song choices... All of the Lights is the next single but wait till yall here the final!!!!!" wrote West.
