Throwback Of The Day...Natalie Imbruglia "Smoke"
"Smoke" is a song by Natalie Imbruglia, released as the fourth and final single from her debut album Left of the Middle. It was released on 11 October 1998, reaching #5 on the UK Singles Chart. However, the song failed to enter the top 40 in Imbruglia's home nation of Australia, peaking at 42. The video for "Smoke" was directed by Matthew Rolston.
With a violin break that soothes your soul, A small glimpse of a drum pattern below a blazing piano and roaring guitar that captures your ear like a baby hearing its first "hello". This song being released 98' had to be significant to the alternative world of music at that point(At least to me). This composition is absolutely amazing in every way from the vocal production which Natalie takes on this MONSTROUS composition with her "baby like" vocals which sets up of the entire song..I love it
