ReplyDeleteWill is very over rated and Im an artist in the industry who my label has bought one of his tracks in the last 2 months and my label paid $150,000 for the record.....Gave up 15% of the royalty mechanics for the record which the industry average to give up is only 8%.....They also had to pay $20,000 for me to go into his studio and pay for his writers and engineers.......And my label swears its "The One" and its really not hot it sounds ust like OMG and this shit he gave to Nicki

ReplyDeleteDr.Luke did Flo Rida's first single which blew up him up and was #1 for 12 weeks with T-Pain and he just did Nelly Just a Dream which is top 10.Both of those songs hold alot better production standards than this Will track or OMG

ReplyDeleteI agree I want her to be a rapper but I think Universal is looking at her stats and seeing that she has a huge potential gold mind.Of course she cant be Beyonce and should not be mentioned in the same breath as Beyonce because Beyonce is legend now.But people "The Pop Star is evolving" and it looks like she is trying to become that.Alot of people think that Lady Gaga is the evolution thats false no diss to her but turn on Madonna and you will see Gaga I promise.But Nicki.....She is trying to what I think is litterally evolve the "pop star".....B.o.B aswell because we have our rapper singers but B.o.B can put out a CD tomorrow with 12 songs all with him singing and his guitar and it will very good.But alot of times I notice when I talk to people that they forget B.o.B can out rap just about any rapper out.So I think its an evolution taking place those 2 when we look 5 to 10 years will be the "Pop Star"

Lets take a step back and look at this Universal might be making a knee jerk human reaction her stats online are crazy and her appeal.Her label sees this and othe blogs and radio etc......By definition a pop star is a person who performs poular music.....Even though I might not feel this song or your love we know now that your love was a hit which makes it popular.Than look at her stats Im sure Ms.A views are off the meter right now and any place else that talks about her.I would love to know her online footprint it has to be massive

ReplyDeleteIm not gonna go and critique Nicki's music I will leave that to Ms.A.But between those stats I just gave you guys and the Nicki is the 3rd highest interview request right behind Beyonce and Angelina Jolie.The Station I work at gets about 15,000+ request for her songs every week.She shatters the numbers for Gaga and Justin Bieber as far as request,search on my stations site.So I think to add to the argument of is she or should she be a pop star or rapper....She has a natural talent as a rapper but with numbers that the labels are seeing from my station and staion across the country and how many hits Ms.A gets when she talks about her I think there trying to pour a little gas onto this fire and see if she explodes.If it fails its ok because over at urban radio she owns 31% of there airtime with her songs are songs she has been featured on so her lock hold over there is set in

Im not authorized to play her songs but my listners want it very bad.Only .9% of the top 40 radio stations in the country has let her through and let her songs play.If these program directors get out of her way we can see someone surpass the impact Lady Gaga has made.

ReplyDeleteI cant speak in detail about it but when your trying to get on top 40 radio to start off you pretty much have to go through hell.If a Beyonce or Rihanna record comes instant play but if your a new artist you have go through so much you literally have to visit every top 40 station in every city and talk to every DJ,Program Director and Station Manager.So its a long hard process I can also say she is working hard at it I have seen her at my station 2 times in the last month talking to people she is trying and she is traveling to different cities trying to do it
