To know where your going in hip hop you have to know where you came from! Shook Ones II is the lead single from Mobb Deep's 1995 "The Infamous" album. The song was hailed an instant classic and in many ways was the pinnacle of Mobb Deep's Critical acclaim, making it their signature song to this day. The song samples Quincy Jones' 1972 "Kitty With The Bent Frame","Thackeray Meets Faculty" released in 1967 by R.Grainer in the main hook,and "Dirty Feet" released in 1979 by Daly Wilson big band as the beat.
To think that this ultimate hip hop song would sample a composition like Quincy Jones' "Kitty With The Bent Frame" is unreal being that when you think of a hardcore hip hop track you don't think of Quincy Jones but indeed you think of Mobb deep...Kinda mind boggling how you can go from that to this right?
