UH OH...Question Of The Day......

OK We all talk about how rappers need to talk about something in their raps right? it can't be just a bunch of hoopla copied from lil' Wayne and turned around 4 times right? SO my question to you at SAU is: Why do rappers as Common, Mos Def, Talbi Kweli, Black thought, and in rare cases Nas, don't get the recognition they should as conscious rappers who take their craft seriously? I mean we all claim and agree that at least one of the rappers mentioned above are at least talented right? why not make them Platinum but we can quickly go out and make a "booty doo" song number 1?......It's debate time SAU let me hear it!

  1. The people you named are very very talented but it goes back to the "Soulja Boy" effect. Those guys are not talking about shaking ass in the club and have a stupid dance with it so they dont sell. Its really ashame but like that one guy who commented on the question yesterday said its the customers fault.

  3. Again stuck in a time warp its easy to figure out why they dont sell.People dont want that serious stuff no more this is not the 80's and 90's in this era we love to dance.

  4. No Tony were not stuck in a time warp you just like bad music thats all.But I cant knock you for it because you have the right to like what you like. But I would feel better if those rappers would get acknowledged by the Grammy's but they dont recognize them either and thats so sad.

  5. Its ashame that the rappers Ms.A named do not get more appreciation from us because they are exceptional at there craft.I remember a couple of years ago at the BET Hip-Hop awards Common won an award for CD of the year I think and he said that was his first award ever...Common's first award is a BET Hip-Hop award how sad is that?
